LOCATION OF SCHOOL AND NEARBY PLACES TO VISIT
Our school is situated in the small, residential Italian village of Ponzano Veneto, approx. 10 mins from the larger town of Treviso.
Treviso is a beautiful, picturesque historical town that offers great charm and character. It depicts the more traditional way of life – away from the more touristic city of Venice. The town, situated within it’s 16th century walls, offers a more relaxed atmosphere, around the charming frescoed house facades, notably that of the famous Tomaso da Modena.
Venice - a 25 min train journey from Treviso takes you into the hustle and bustle of the island of Venice, famed for its canals, gondolas, great artists. Explore this unique city by taking a water taxi along the Canal Grande, visit the famous Basilica di San Marco, or simply relax and sip a glass of the local Prosecco, and watch the world go by. Verona – less than 2 hours west is the beautiful, romantic city, home to Romeo and Juliette, with the impressive outdoor Arena, where you can watch great operas during the summer months.
Lake Garda, again less than 2 hours west, is the largest of the Italian lakes, which offers stunning scenery, opportunities to windsurf, climb and sail.
The Wine Trail – Being the largest wine growing region in Italy, take the chance to explore the numerous vineyards surrounding our village, and enjoy a taste of the famous, local Prosecco.
Due to the great number of Venetian palaces, there are many tours to see these great beauties of Italian architecture.
Within an hour you can be at the local seaside resort of Jeselo, or in the ski resorts of the Dolomites.
